Artemis Breast Clinic (ABC)

At the Artemis Health Institute (AHI), is the first comprehensive dedicated centre in North India for the evaluation, diagnosis and management of all breast conditions.

Consultation Service

New Patient Clinic - - For all new patients with breast complaints. The clinic is open every day Monday-Saturday

Combined Breast Clinic (CBC) - For existing patients and patients who need to see more than one specialist in the same visit. This includes consultation from Tumor Board. CBC maximizes patient comfort and reduces the number of trips the patient needs to make to the hospital. .

Breast Care Nurse - A specialist nurse integrates all the services in the breast centre and co-ordinate all multi-disciplinary activities for the patient.

The Combined Artemis Breast Centre (CABC) Opinion - This is a meeting where all newly diagnosed cancer cases and complex cases are discussed by all the members of ABC. This is a "physicians-only" meeting where all the experts pool in their collective knowledge and work out the appropriate treatment modalities for each patient. .

Therapeutic Services

Breast Conservation Surgery - Breast conservation surgery removes the breast tumor and gives the appearance and texture of the breast as close as possible to what they had before treatment

When indicted medically this has exactly the same ate of cancer removal as a removal of the whole breast, but it is always followed by radiation therapy

Breast Reconstruction Surgery - Breast reconstruction restores the appearance of a breast for women who have had a breast removed to treat breast cancer.

A new form called Oncoplastic Breast Surgery minimizes the loss of cosmesis even in breast conserving surgeries, where now larger tumors may be dealt with conservatively, the breast remodeled with no danger to the cancer recurring.

Even the breast can be removed through small incisions and we have a nipple sparing mastectomy, where the breast is removed through a 5cm incision and the nipple kept intact , followed by immediate reconstruction, so the patient recovers with a breast and her own nipple intact.

Radiation Therapy - Radiation therapy (or radiotherapy) destroys any remaining breast cancer cells in the breast, chest wall, or axilla (underarm) area after surgery.

At Artemis we offer patients who undergo breast conserving surgery the possibility of a reverse boost, herein very thin multiple wires are passed through the area of the lump removal and patient gets radiation therapy the exact place where the tumor originated, this is coupled later with conventional radiation and has the advantage of

Lowering the risk of recurrence by accurate delivery of radiation

Chemotherapy - Cancer treatment by administering cancer fighting drugs in cycles with intervals of two to three weeks in between. Artemis also provides the facility of MAMMAPRINT analysis for patients wherein the tissue during surgery is sent for analysis and the risk of the disease recurring determined. It has been shown to save up to 15% of all early breast cancer patients chemotherapy
